The OHERN Plan is more than an enhancement to our transportation infrastructure. In addition to supporting a network of interurban transportation the plan calls for the creation of a tightly integrated network of college campuses. If adopted, Ohio would be unique in having created a system consisting of passenger rail, public transit and higher education.

From Lake Erie in the north to Cincinnati, Portsmouth, Athens and Marietta in the south, from the Ohio River in the east to the Indiana boarder in the west, higher education can become an indispensable partner in the building of a truly comprehensive statewide passenger rail network.
